Prayer Corner

PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE
Lord, what we have not, give us.
Lord, what we know not, teach us.
Lord, what we are not, make us.
Forgive what we have been.
Sanctify what we are and order what we shall be,
For your mercy’s sake. Amen

A PRAYER FOR HEALING
Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You.
Allow Your healing hand to heal me.
Touch my soul with your compassion for others.
Touch my heart with Your courage and infinite love for all.
Touch my mind with Your wisdom that my mouth may always proclaim Your praise.
Teach me to reach out to You in my need and help me to lead others to You by my example.
Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and spirit that I may serve You with all my strength.
Touch gently this life which You have created now and forever. Amen

A PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Come, Spirit of God, and grant us the power to be gentle, the strength to be forgiving, the patience to be understanding, the endurance to accept the consequences of holding on to what is right.
Come, Spirit of God, help us to put out trust in the power of good to overcome evil, the power of love to overcome hatred.
Come, Spirit of God, enlighten us with the vision to see, and the faith to believe in a world free from violence, a new world where fear will no longer lead us to commit in justices, nor selfishness cause us to bring suffering to others.
Come, Spirit of Wisdom and Love, source of all good, teach us Your truth and guide our actions in Your way of peace. Amen.

COME HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER
Come Holy Spirit
Replace the tension within me with a holy relaxation.
Replace the turbulence within me with a sacred calm.
Replace the anxiety within me with a quiet confidence.
Replace the fear within me with a strong faith.
Replace the bitterness within me with the sweetness of grace.
Replace the darkness within me with a gentle light.
Replace the coldness within me with a loving warmth.
Replace the night within me with Your day.
Replace the winter within me with Your spring.
Come Holy Spirit.

Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardships as the pathways to peace.
Taking as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your Will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen

Litany of Thanksgiving
Count your blessings instead of your crosses.
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your smiles instead of your tears.
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your joys instead of your woes.
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your full years instead of your lean.
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth.
Count on God instead of yourself.
